Commercial

A 500,000 square-foot, “Class A” office tower is planned on a site directly across the street from the AirTrain Terminal. Businesses that relocate to Jamaica have access to valuable state and city programs, including Empire Zone tax credits and REAP benefits that make the move extremely cost effective.

With direct, quick access to both JFK and Midtown Manhattan, employers will find that the easy commute to Jamaica, along with its active retail corridor and ample parking, will make Downtown Jamaica a popular choice with employees. Millions of potential employees have access to Jamaica through mass transportation—both the Long Island Railroad and New York City Transit—making Jamaica central to a skilled well-educated labor force. A little known fact: There is a larger population of college-educated workers within 45 minutes of Jamaica than either Wall Street or White Plains.

Retail

Downtown Jamaica is the premier shopping district in Queens. One of the most diverse communities in New York City, Jamaica is the commercial, civic, cultural and transportation center of the borough. It is centered along the 1-mile Jamaica Avenue shopping district. New to Jamaica is Moda, a mixed-use project offering an upscale housing option with 365 units. Jamaica is a dynamic place to shop, live, work and be entertained.

As an established shopping destination surrounded by some of the most affluent neighborhoods in NYC and accessible from throughout the region, Downtown Jamaica is primed for additional new retail investment. Many national chains have already established a presence in the downtown and are taking advantage of this thriving market.

- $2.5 billion in unmet consumer demand
- 643,000 residents within 5 miles of the shopping core
- 158,000 workers in and around the downtown
- 46,500 college students within 5 miles

Greater Jamaica Development Corporation is here to help prospective retailers
locate and thrive in the downtown. Below are Downtown Jamaica marketing materials, demographics, and pedestrian counts. We will be happy to provide

Hotel

A centerpiece of Station Area development is a new hotel. The hotel is anticipated to have 250 rooms with 15,000 square feet of banquet and meeting space, along with parking. The hotel will be unique in that it will be the only hotel connected to JFK International Airport; guests will be able to transfer directly from the airport to the hotel via AirTrain. Southeastern Queens has long sought a community meeting and celebration space, and the hotel banquet facility will be much in demand.
